Pennsylvania Housing Study (2006)

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency contracted with several vendors to conduct a housing study in Pennsylvania.

The Reinvestment Fund ("TRF") conducted statistical research on behalf of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency on the status of housing in Pennsylvania. TRF's general mapping and demographic information is incorporated in the policy map program available on TRF's Web site. Additional studies by TRF are included in the Housing Study of 2007.

Another portion of the housing study involved discussions and interviews with individuals to develop an insight into their frame of reference and impressions of issues affecting the housing choices and conditions within their communities. Housing Alliance conducted this study on behalf of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. The results of the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania study, which included 15 regional input sessions and 25 individual interviews, are available in the "Report on Regional Input Sessions and Interviews" (~1 MB).

czb LLC was retained by PHFA to examine and summarize current housing conditions and demand in Northeastern Pennsylvania – Region 2 (which includes Bradford, Berks, Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming counties). What czb's approach contributes is an analysis of the housing demand in the context of the housing supply in and around Region 2. The results of the czb study are available in the report, "An Analysis of Housing and Markets in Northeastern Pennsylvania" (~15 MB).
